The PRS SE Swamp Ash Special is a unique offering in the expanding PRS SE series. Featuring a swamp ash body and a 22-fret maple neck with a maple fingerboard, the SE Swamp Ash Special presents a new look and a versatile configuration. Two 85/15 "S" humbuckers frame a PRS-designed AS-01 Single Coil "S" pickup in the middle position. This AS-01 Single Coil is made of Alnico and steel (hence its name), which adds mass to the magnets and creates a powerful sound. Combined with a push-pull tone control and a 5-way pickup selector, this pickup/electronics combination offers musicians a wide range of sounds. The patented PRS tremolo adds an extra touch of versatility. The overall tone of the PRS SE Swamp Ash Special is characterized by solid lows, bright but smooth highs, and a noticeable 'twang' that makes it suitable for 'hot country,' blues, and even jazz.
