The St. James 100 head and combo represent a revolutionary evolution in valve amplification. These amps are one of our most ambitious projects, carefully developed over many years to deliver unparalleled performance, with a stunning new look. Continuing the legacy of the St. James series, the St. James 100 head is the lightest 100-watt valve head in the world, and the St. James 100 combo is the lightest 100-watt 2x12' valve combo in the world, combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. The St. James 100 boasts a series of innovative and unique features, without compromise.

We had two main objectives when designing the St. James amplifiers. First, to produce a range of heads and combos that are as light as possible while retaining the essential elements of traditional valve amplifiers, with no compromise in terms of sound or performance, something guitarists have been asking for for decades. Second, to include everything in a single enclosure to allow for the production of authentic valve amp tones captured by a microphone in a room, directly into a DI or into a recording device. This was achieved by using the full amplifier signal path (including power tubes) to feed a true reactive load, which is then passed through a proprietary state-of-the-art DSP section to provide almost limitless variations of cabinet/speaker/microphone/room simulations. In line with Blackstar's design philosophy from the outset, these products were designed with reference to the sounds of traditional and modern valve guitar amplifiers, but we are not slaves to old dogmas regarding the components and topologies used. We bring uncompromising care and attention to every detail to achieve the sound and performance we want and that today's guitarists expect.
